Aidan TumasAidan Tumas (Milo) “Walk the Fish” marks a return to acting for Aidan Tumas after a long hiatus away from the stage. After starring turns in plays at his high school in Wisconsin, he enrolled in a two-year theatre arts program at Lester B. Pearson United World College of the Pacific in British Columbia, where he acted in a number of plays including the Laramie Project, Under Milk Wood, and “Mountain Language.” At Vassar College, he acted in No Exit his freshman year. Four years later, this is his first time acting for film.

Nicole WoodNicole Wood (Laura) is a Hudson Valley actress and Vassar student. Despite having only just completed her Freshman year at Vassar, Nicole has appeared in the Powerhouse production of Metamorphoses as Myrrha and Psyche, and has had leads in local professional productions of Waiting For Godot, Barefoot in the Park, and Man of La Mancha. Nicole is a graduate of the Neighborhood Playhouse pre-professional program. She was awarded the Hudson Valley High School Tony for “Best Actress in a Musical” in 2007, and sings with Vassar’s oldest a capella group, the Night Owls. While shooting “Fish,” Nicole learned all the dirty secrets of the Vassar Golf Course.

Lance RubinLance Rubin (Cove) Lance’s recent film credits include Germ Freak in Cafe, starring Jennifer Love Hewitt. He is a co-writer and co-star of the hit comedy sketch show The Lance and Ray Show at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City. These two have recently taken the plunge and moved to the Lower East Side to pursue further acting opportunities: Whiskey is currently taking classes at the Peoples Improv Theater, while Lono is seeking a mentor for training in the Alexander Technique. Love to fallen comrades and roommates Caitlin Mae Burke and Hannah Schorr.

Kathleen ManKathleen Man (Writer/Director)was born and raised on O’ahu and attended the same high school as Obama. She was an Iowa Arts Fellow at the University of Iowa, earning an MA in Film Studies and an MFA in Film/Video Production. As a Fulbright Scholar in Paris, she wrote and directed the award-winning short, The Interview (L’Entretien). While making both dramatic and documentary films (Kind of a Blur, Sita, a Girl from Jambu and Beauty Mark) and winning various awards (Best Comedic Short, Best Feature Film, Best Documentary, Audience Award) at many different festivals, Kathleen taught filmmaking at UC-Boulder. Now, she is an assistant professor on the tenure-track in the Film Department at Vassar College, where she teaches narrative and documentary filmmaking. James Roehl (Writer/Story) lost the original screenplay for Walk the Fish under his bed in between semesters during his senior year at Vassar College. Thank heavens he found it, or else none of this would be here.

Caitlin Mae BurkeCaitlin Mae Burke (Producer) is a Jersey-bred filmmaker exiled to the East Village of Manhattan, where she shares an apartment with the piscine stars of Walk the Fish. She attended Prague Film School in 2006 and left a great chunk of her heart (and dignity) in Bohemia. A 2008 film graduate of Vassar College, Caitlin Mae’s senior documentary Riding Tall won Best Student Documentary at the International Family Film Festival in Los Angeles. She is currently an associate producer for Discovery Health’s Mystery Diagnosis, and is working on producing music videos for Cudzoo and the Fagettes and finding a place to ride horses in New York City.

Liz GalvaoLiz Galvao (Production Manager) is an ’09 film graduate of Vassar College, and attended Prague Film School in 2007. She remembers fondly the summer she first heard the story of James walking the fish, and is delighted to be a part of recreating that story for the screen. Liz plans to live and work in New York City.

Katie HickmanKatie Hickman (Assistant Camera/Art Design) is an ’08 graduate of Vassar College, with a double BA in Film and Religion. She currently lives in Brooklyn and is always looking to freelance on film projects - especially ones shot on film or involving animals. She recently worked with Red Bucket Films on Go Get Some Rosemary, an independent feature film directed by Josh and Ben Safdie which premiered at the Director's Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival 2009. Katie is also passionate about yoga and plans on becoming a certified instructor in order to teach when she is not working on a film. The best movie she saw recently was True Stories by David Byrne.

Will CatelluciWill Castellucci (Gaffer/Title Design) was born and raised in Rhode Island. After considering art school, he decided instead to pursue a liberal arts education at Vassar, where he got into the arts anyway. Will majored in film at Vassar College, and graduated in 2009. He plans to work in film production and travel the world for the next few years, hopefully by boat (as he hates flying.) All the fish Will ever owned have met unfortunate, premature deaths.

Kyle PorterKyle Porter (Sound) is a rising Senior at Vassar College and will graduate with a major in Film and a correlate in Comparative Philosophy in 2010. He has experience working in most positions of the filmmaking process, though he is most experienced as a director and sound recordist. He has been an active member of the Vassar Filmmakers since its inception two years ago and hopes to continue encouraging aspiring filmmakers to create whatever films they wish as the organization's Creative Director next year. After Walk the Fish, he recorded sound for a short documentary, David and the Kingdom, and he is currently working on pre-production for a dramatic short he will be directing over the summer entitled Stripping the Myth.

Aidan Tumas (Boom/Grip) Aidan Tumas is a recent graduate of the Media Studies department of Vassar College, where his studies focused primarily on media theory and film production. He has directed a number of short films and has worked as a sound designer on other film department shorts. As his senior capstone project, he directed and edited a thirty-minute, four-screen experimental documentary, “Revival,” which examines the early history of presidential television campaigns.

Elissa Ewing (Hair/Makeup) is a stylist living in the Hudson Valley with her two adorable pups. Walk the Fish is her first film.

Currently, she also takes backstage photographs at fashion presentations. Julia is a senior at Vassar College and is from Rhinebeck, NY.
